The Listening and Viewing Committee of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) has completed the review of all submitted entries at ASBU’s headquarters in preparation for the 26th edition of the Arab Radio and Television Festival, which will be held in Tunisia from 21 to 24 September.
The Committee examined the audiovisual productions submitted for the festival’s radio and television competitions, ensuring that they meet the required technical, editorial, and regulatory criteria before moving forward to the judging stage.
Composed of media experts and audiovisual specialists, the Committee plays a key role in the competition process by reviewing the eligibility of entries, including their duration, technical quality, content requirements, and compliance with the festival’s rules.

Strong Participation in Television Competitions
The television competitions of this edition have attracted 53 public and private production entities, including 19 ASBU member television organizations, 12 private satellite channels, and 22 production companies.
A total of 149 television productions will compete this year, including 108 entries in the main competition and 41 in the parallel competition. The wide participation reflects the diversity and dynamism of audiovisual production across the region.
Growing Interest in Radio Competitions
The radio competitions have received 161 entries from 35 Arab, international, and private radio organizations.
The main competition includes 118 productions submitted by 16 ASBU member radio organizations, while the parallel competition features 43 entries from 19 international and private radio stations, highlighting the expanding participation of radio institutions in the festival.

Artificial Intelligence Takes Centre Stage in the New Media Competition
For the New Media Competition, ASBU has chosen the theme “A Journey Across the Arab World for Young Audiences, Supported by Artificial Intelligence Technologies.”
Dedicated to ASBU member organizations, the competition received 10 entries, demonstrating the increasing interest of media institutions in exploring artificial intelligence tools to create innovative digital content for younger generations.
Electronic Judging Process Underway
Following the completion of the Committee’s review, the festival competitions have entered the next phase: online remote judging through the digital platform developed by ASBU specifically for managing the competition process.
The electronic judging system ensures transparency, independence, and equal opportunities for all participants. Each jury member evaluates the works individually through the platform, assigns scores electronically, and the system automatically processes the results.
This innovative mechanism is one of the distinctive features of the Arab Radio and Television Festival competitions, strengthening its role as a leading Arab media event that promotes excellence, creativity, and innovation in audiovisual production.
